More detail on this person: Richard Michael Levy Born Oct. 21, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI passed away on June 14, 2011 in Lutz, FL. Raised in Detroit, MI by parents Milton & Dorothy Levy. A graduate of Farmington High, Michigan. A Vietnam Veteran with over 24 years of service to the Army. Medals and awards received during his service include: Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, Army Comendation Medal Award for Valor, Master Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Canpaign Medal, Air Medal with 24 Oak Clusters, 3 Overseas Bars, ARCAM, National Defense Service Medal, & MI Broadsword Medal with 1st Gold Star. Proud member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Assoc. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan Univ. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge & member of Shriners Egypt Temple. He retired as a Sergeant from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office after 20 years of service. While working for the Sheriff's Office, he received his Masters Degree in Business from the Univ. of Tampa. He is loved, missed and survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Levy from N.Y., N.Y., Penelope Levy from El Centro, CA, his best friend of over 25 yrs. Betty Harris of Lutz, her daughters Tammy Foreback and husband Dennis from Edmore, MI, Tina Bailey and husband Chris from Brooksville, FL & grandchildren; Bob, Jack, Garrett, and Allie. there will be a short service at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL on Tuesday July 19th at 12:45. St. Petersburg Times July 10, 2011.
