Helicopter crash in Eufaula, AL.One Dead in
Eufaula Helicopter Crash Jun 23, 2005, 11:28 PM

The U.S. Army Aviation Center has confirmed that
one fatality has occurred in the crash in Eufaula
of a helicopter from Fort Rucker. Late Thursday
evening Fort Rucker identified the man who died as
58 year old Michael Lee. The pilot was from
Enterprise.
Surviving crew members are being treated a local
hospitals. The Eufaula Police Department confirmed
a chopper went down about around 10:15 Thursday
morning. The three injured crew members were
transported to Lakeview Community Hospital in
Eufaula.
The U.S. Army Aviation Center confirmed that a
TH-67 Creek helicopter was damaged during routine
training this morning. The aircraft was being used
for pilot aircraft qualification training, with a
crew of three on board, when it experienced a hard
landing and damage.
Damage estimates to the aircraft are unavailable
at this time. The TH-67 is valued at approximately
$915,000 by post officials. The cause of the
accident is under investigation by army safety
officials. The Helicopter went down on Lake Drive,
near the Eufaula Community Center. That's also
