Larry was born Monday, September 20, 1943 in Vernon, Texas, he was the son of the late Deward A. Latimer and the late Alma Joyce Jouett Latimer. Larry married Diane Whatley on August 9, 1964 in Vernon. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army retired major, two tours in Vietnam, Gunship Pilot, Instrument Instructor and AH-1G Instructor Pilot Master Army Aviator. He received Distinguished Flying Cross w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal w/5 V Devices w/44 Oak Leaf Clusters Army Commendation Medal w/2 Oak Leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal W/I silver and 1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Master Army Aviator Badge, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm. He was a retired farmer and Business Administrator for Texas A&M Research Center November 1988 to Present. He was manager of Radio Shack in Vernon 1986 to 1988. He was a member of Fargo Church of Christ. He was an Elder of the church. Larry is survived by his wife Diane Latimer of the home two brothers, Lawrence Latimer and wife Mary of Vernon, TX and Mark Latimer and wife Karen of Roanoke, TX. Granddaughter Danielle Latimer of Austin, TX. his sister-in-law and husband Shirley and H.L. Ross of Alvord, TX. He is preceded in death by his daughter Denise Latimer in 2011 one brother Roy Don Latimer. Memorials can be made to Fargo Church of Christ or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society (Lou Gehrig Disease)
