More detail on this person: He was diagnosed in May 2006 with ALS, as are many military personnel. Though a Viet Nam veteran, Jimmy Don returned relatively unscared from his tour of duty. We were privileged to attend the yearly convention in Dallas and he re-met several men he had served with in Viet Nam.

Jimmy Don had recently retired from Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. after 35 years of flying in the Gulf, and lived with his wife Virginia in Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by his daughter Kendra Lowry, who recently returned to Houston to help take care of her dad, his son Greg of Cedar City, Utah, his loving sister Glenda of Huntington, West Virginia, and first wife Lynda of Cedar City, Utah, who lived through the Viet Nam years with Jimmy Don.

In loving memory of a wonderful husband, Virginia Lowry
