Littlefield was born August 27, 1945 in Michigan
and passed away August 19, 2016 in Conroe,
Texas at the age of 70.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Lyle
and Elaine Cecilia Schols Littlefield, and his
brother, Larry Littlefield. Floyd is survived by
his loving wife, Carolyn; children, Wendi Ryan,
Tiffany Pickens, David DeGaetano and Travis
Littlefield; grandchildren, Noah, Seth, and Ava
Ryan, Cooper and Kylie Littlefield, and Payeton
and Tayelor Pickens; and a niece Jen Littlefield.
Floyd's lifelong passion for flying led him from
East Lansing High School in Michigan to Vietnam
where he served the US Army flying Boeing CH-47
Chinooks from 1966 until 1970 then through
Western Michigan University where he earned a BS
in Aviation Engineering Technology. Floyd flew for
Coastal Gas Corporation, Braniff International,
Jim Bourke Aircraft and spent the last 21 years of
his career with Continental Airlines. He flew
multiple light aircraft, the CH-47 Chinook, Beech
King Air, North American Saberliners, Boeing 727 /
737 / 757 / 767, and MD-80 accumulating more
than 30,000 hours of flight time. Even in
retirement Floyd developed a passion for flying RC
planes.
Floyd expressed many times for years prior to his
passing that he did not want a sad service, but a
celebration of the wonderful life he lived. A
Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for
Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Cashner Colonial
Chapel at 1:30pm. To leave condolences to the
