More detail on this person: U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Carl E. Lorence (Retired), 90, of Harrisburg, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 in Carolyn's House. He was born in Ford City on August 25, 1930 to the late Michael and Josephine (Laskowska) Lorence. Carl retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer serving during the Vietnam War. He later retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania working as a Supervisor for the Bureau of Financial Management, CDIC. Carl was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Steelton, the American Legion Post 272, the Vietnam Veterans Helicopter Association, the Polish National Falcons, Ford City, the Capital Area Greenbelt Association where he was former President and member, the Appalachian Trail Association (ATA), the Keystone Trail Association (KTA), and helped to create and build the PA Standing Stone Trail. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife: Erika; his sisters: Caroline Lorence, Stella Lorence, Kathryn and Henry Blondeaux, Eleanor and James Cravener, Valeria and William Oleksak, Mary and John Barker, and Bertha and Stanley Pazausky; and, his brothers: Walter and Argida Lorence, Adolph and Mildred Lorence, and Frank Lorence. Surviving are his son: John Michael Lorence of Lansing, Michigan; and his three grandchildren: Cordelia, Kai, and Michael. There will be an evening viewing on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 06:00 - 08:00 PM in the Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo M. Goodman, III as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg Published in Patriot-News from Dec. 22 to Dec. 24, 2020.
