More detail on this person: Floyd "Lucky" Lockhart (Lt. Col. Ret.) passed away in Yukon, OK on Aug. 16, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and many other complications due to agent orange. He was born on June 23, 1932, in Sinks Grove, WV to Robert and Riva Lockhart. He grew up in Richwood until 1947 when the family moved to Akron, OH where he graduated from Central High School. He attended Akron U and obtained an associate degree from St. Leo College FL. He joined the Navy in 1951 where he was an aircraft electrician. He transferred from the USN to the USAF to begin pilot training. As a child it was his dream to be a pilot. He became a Rescue Helicopter pilot to save lives. He later retired from the Airforce as a Lt. Col. at Seymour Johnson AFB in 1974 as an airfield manager. He served in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, England, two tours in Vietnam and various stateside bases. After retirement, he and his family moved to OH. He went to work for the USPS. He retired in 1999 from the Ravenna P.O. with 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank, Fred, sister Hazel Swain and grandson Jason Huth. He is survived by his wife, Becky, daughter Laura (Richard) Powell, Sheri Lockhart, Andre' (Jazz) Lockhart, stepdaughter, Julie (Josh) Rodriquez, Andrew (Teresa) Casto, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Pedro Rescue Helicopter Association, Order of the Purple Heart, USAF Helicopter Pilot Association, and a member of the Mobile, AL Masonic Lodge. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Private services will take place in OH at a later date. In his honor donations may be made to a veteran's charity of your choice.
