More detail on this person: James Christopher Lyons, 69, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at his home in Elmore, Ala. James, called Jim by his family and friends, was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Ardelle Lyons; his brother, Mike Lyons; his son, Chris Lyons; and his nephews, Julian R. (Trey) Brown III and Nathan Lyons. He lives on in the memories and hearts of his wife, Pat; his brothers and sisters, Steve (Karen) Lyons, Sally (Brad) Stiles, Susan (David) Isermann, Dan (Teri) Lyons, Kenny (Lilann) Lyons and Marty (Judy) Lyons; his sister-in-law, Lyn Nicolo; his sons, Owen (Laura), Patrick (Erica) and Andrew (Hannah); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Aurelia and Oliver; many nieces and nephews; and many friends, including Dennis Klein and Wayne Flowers. Jim loved so much in life: his family, his friends, golf, trips to Washington, the Gulf Coast and North Carolina, Auburn football _ that it is hard to list everything. He lived a full life, serving his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, coaching many soccer teams over the years, working tirelessly in the support of his family and enjoying his retirement with friends, family and his hobbies. We would like to thank Nelda Clark, Deb Folmer and Drs. Arshad and Varghese for their wonderful care of Jim and their kindness and patience with us over the years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prattville, Ala. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be his sons, Owen, Patrick and Andrew; and his nephews, Jay Robertson, John Robertson and William Robertson. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Times (Ottawa, Illinois) November 17, 2017
