More detail on this person: Mark Dugan Lawrence Mark Dugan Lawrence Albany Democrat-Herald (OR) - Sunday, June 14, 2009 Jan. 24, 1946 - June 9, 2009 Mark Dugan Lawrence, 63, son of Marylou and the late Lynn Lawrence, died at home Tuesday, June 9, of a heart attack. Dugan grew up in Corvallis, where he had a multitude of friends. He enjoyed performing with the band The Bushmen until he went into the service during the Vietnam War. He became a pilot, flying the Mohawk surveillance plane. He was flight operations officer for a 325-man unit in Vietnam, where he flew day and night armed reconnaissance missions. From 1970 to 1972, he trained pilots at Fort Rucker, Ala. He was commander of a Mohawk unit from 1974 to 1977, flying the borders of East Germany and Czechoslovakia. His next assignment was battalion deputy commander and standardization instructor pilot for a year in Korea. He continued his career in intelligence and counterintelligence, retiring in 1992 as a lieutenant colonel. He and his wife, Marlene, moved to Corvallis to be near family. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Steven. Survivors include his wife, Marlene; children, Kinnie Calise, Cherie and Keith; grandson, Josh; mother, Marylou; brothers Rick of Junction City and Brad of Pullman, Wash., and his wife, Holly; sister, Kinnie, of Bend and her husband, Pete; and many loving uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. A private service for family will take place at his mother's home. Arrangements are by McHenry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Vina Moses Center's school supplies program.
