More detail on this person: Frederick Dale Ledfors Frederick Dale Ledfors, Sr., 66, of Cadiz died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his home. He was born May 28, 1944 in Cadiz, a son of the late Carl Ledfors and the late Ann Kovacik Ledfors Butler. Mr. Ledfors was a highly decorated officer retired from the United States Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster with Valor, Meritorious Service Medal with 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with 36th Oak Leaf Cluster with Valor, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Service Medal with 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Oversea Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Master Army Aviator, Parachutist Badge, Marksmanship Badge, Sharpshooter Badge. He was an active volunteer with Toys for Tots, Reading for Children and other organizations at Redstone Arsenal, AL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Clifford Butler, a brother, Richard Ledfors, and a sister, Nancy Reed. . Surviving are a son, Frederick D. Ledfors, Jr. and his wife Teletha of Hartselle, Alabama; a daughter, Andrea Johnson and her husband Phillip of Moulton, Alabama; a grandson, Phillip Cody Johnson; a brother, Robert Ledfors and a sister, Shirley Ledfors, both of Cadiz. Friends may call Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Paul Giffin will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
