Luther High Point Enterprise (NC) - Friday, July 31, 2009 ASHEBORO - Mr. William Roger Luther, 62, of 5967 Pondside Drive, Asheboro, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Dowling and the Rev. David Noyes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Randolph County, NC on March 15, 1947, Mr. Luther was the son of the late Cicero Wayne Luther and Evelyn Kennedy Luther. He was retired from the US Army, a Vietnam veteran, and helicopter pilot. During his time in the Army he received numerous awards and medals and traveled extensively. His great loves were his wife and family, helicopters, and computers. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and a former member of Northwood United Methodist Church in High Point. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara L. Lucas. Surviving are his wife, Jane P. Luther, of the home; son, Jonathan B. Luther and his wife, Ni-cole F., of High Point; grandson, Corbin W. Luther; aunts, Ruby Jean Luther, Nellie L. Miller, both of Asheboro; and uncle, Albert R. Luther, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and other times at the home
