More detail on this person: Largo, Fla. - Gregory Randolph "Randy" Lago, 64, who grew up in Groton and lived in Largo, Fla., passed on to eternal life on May 8, 2010, at Wright Patterson Medical Center in Ohio. Randy was a retired major in the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was honored with a Distingushed Flying Cross and a Bronze Star, He loved the game of golf and gave his children the best of childhood memories, camping and fishing in Anchorage, Alaska.

Randy was predeceased by his father, Abelardo P. Lago.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth E. Lago of Florida; brothers, Andy Lago and wife, Jennie Lago, of Oklahoma, Tom Lago and wife, Karen Lago, of Wisconsin, John Lago and friend, Kevin, of Anchorage, and Rick Lago of Anchorage; his son, Steve Lago of Norwich; daughter, Randa Marie Lago-Samson of Lisbon; grandsons, James "Jimmy G" Lago and Sammy Samson; granddaughters, Santina and Jamie Noe; also two gracious previous wives, Donna Gene Chairamonte and Valerie Hurley Lago and daughter, Sondra Williams; and a life long best friend, Robert "Bob" Winkler. We cannot forget his "D Buddy, Ditta."

A service, planned by immediate family and friends, for Randy will be private.
