More detail on this person: Herman M Lenhardt Funeral mass for CWO 4 (Ret.) Herman M. Lenhardt, Sr., 76, of Lawton, OK., will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 6, 2007, at St. Ann's Catholic Church of Elgin, OK., with Father Madineni Prakash, pastor, officiating. He died on Tuesday July 3, 2007, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Burial will be at the Fort Sill National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born on February 21, 1931 in Lutherville, AR. to Henry and Meta Fricke Lenhardt. He married Bernetta Weigand on August 2, 1951 at Fort Benning, GA. Mr. Lenhardt joined the United States Army in 1948, and retired after serving for 29 years. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne and served 25 years as an Army Aviator. Herman was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Elgin and was very active in the Men's Club and founding president, Church Council and other church activities. He was a member and Past Master of Apache Lodge #223, India Shrine, and past president of the Lawton Shrine Klowns. He is survived by his wife, Bernie, of 55 years; two sons and daughters-in-law; Herman Jr. and Evelyn Lenhardt, Jack and Donna Lenhardt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Meta and Mike Tate and Wilda and Troy Bruce; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Lenhardt and his wife, Virginia; three sisters, Carole Waite and her husband, Sherman, Ruth Baldwin, and Melba Smithson and her husband, Dee. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, six sisters, and three brothers.
