Lovrien, Jr., was born November 1, 1937, in Mason
City, Iowa. After a year-long battle with cancer,
he died on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Clark graduated from Riverside High School, in
Milwaukee, WI, in 1955. In July 1955, he entered
the United States Air Force Academy as a member
of the first class of the USAFA. Graduating from
the USAFA in 1959, he was commissioned as a
2nd Lt. in the USAF. After competing pilot
training, he was stationed at Goodfellow AFB, San
Angelo, Texas. After a tour in Vietnam in 1966, he
attended the Navy Test Pilot School, in Patuxent
River, MD, graduating in 1968. He served as an Air
Force test pilot from 1968 until his retirement in
1979. His last five years of active duty were
served with AFOTEC, Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque.
Clark met his wife of 53 years, Reba Foster
Lovrien, while stationed at Goodfellow AFB. They
were married December 28, 1961.
After Clark retired from the Air Force, he and
Reba owned and operated Clark's Springtime, Inc.,
in Albuquerque. They were in business for 28
years. In 1998, they sold their home and decided
to travel fulltime in their motor home. Turning
the business over to their son and finally selling
it in 2003, they were free to live their dream of
seeing the USA. Clark was invited to join the
Rotary Club of Albuquerque in 1982, serving as
president of the club in 1989-90. He served as
District Governor of Rotary Intl. District 5520 in
1993-94. At the time of his death, he was a member
of the Rotary E Club of the Southwest.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Tijeras.
Clark is predeceased by his parents and his
brother. He is survived by his wife, Reba; four
children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and
two sisters.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 5,
at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Tijeras
and interment will follow at the United States Air
Force Academy on a date to be decided.
