More detail on this person: Richard L Lowder Richard L Lowder, 36, of 149 Leeward Road, died Wednesday at a local hospital. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of J. McLaurin Jr. and Edna White Lowder. He was a graduate of Campbell University and received his marketing degree at Florence-Darlington Technical College. Mr. Lowder was a real estate broker and was a member of the national, state and local boards of Realtors. He was a veteran having served as a Marine Corps pilot. Mr. Lowder was a former Sunday school superintendent at St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Florence Chamber of Commerce and the Marine Corps League. Mr. Lowder was the past chairman and coordinator of the Florence chapter of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy program. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Florence. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to the Heart Fund.
