More detail on this person: Donald Elliot Loyd Graveside services for Donald Elliot Loyd, 61, Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Dr. Michael Massar officiating under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. Mr. Loyd died May 27, 2006, in Tyler. He was born March 5, 1945, in Washington, D.C., to Woodrow Samuel and Margaret Jordan Loyd. He graduated from John Tyler High School and received his bachelor's degree from North Texas State University. He was a captain in the Army during the Vietnam War, received several medals, and was active in veterans activities. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Samuel Loyd; sister, Margaret Ann McRee; grandfather, Edgar Butte Jordan; uncle, Jim Jordan; and ex-wife and mother of his children, Ann Stanley Calhoun. Survivors include his children, John Walter Phelan, Augusta, Ga., Christy Phelan Vail, Galveston, Amy Elizabeth Loyd, Tyler, and Elliot Loyd Watson, Killeen; mother, Margaret Jordan Loyd, Tyler; one uncle and two aunts
