More detail on this person: Burial is scheduled for Monday August 27, 2018 Lt. Colonel Alex P. Lupenski, 83, passed away on August 17, 2018, in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his children Terry Morgan (Steve), Laura Todd (Shane), Karen Baldoni (Bob), Stephanie Lupenski, and Alex Lupenski (Tammy), 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his brother Frank Lupenski. Alex was originally from Patterson, New Jersey and graduated from Fordham University. He served 20 years in the US Air Force as a search and rescue helicopter pilot and retired as a squadron commander at Kirtland AFB. His career included many high-profile rescue missions. He retired in 1978, became a general contractor, and founded Alex Construction, which specialized in building custom homes. He was a sharp and witty man, dedicated to his family and his country. An avid outdoorsman and adventurer, he loved to hike, fish, and ski, particularly in the mountains of Colorado. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.
