More detail on this person: I worked with
Harold as a night vision goggle instructor pilot
OH-58 A/C at Fort Rucker, AL. The night Harold
was killed there was a weather recall. Harold
along with 3 students crashed in trees outside
Hanchey Heliport. Harold was a department of the
Army civilian (DAC) at the time. I can not
remember the exact day of his death however.

friend. "He was as much a part of the Army as a
military member. He never left the Army when he
got out. He was a friend. He would never turn
anyone down. He was a person you could depend
on," Segeren said. "He was someone in my life who
I will never forget. There never was a man more
devoted to his family than David," added Segeren.
Legrand died alongside WOC Mark W. Elenio while
they were attempting to fly back to Haney Army
Heliport, in an OH-58 during inclement weather,
when the helicopter went down.
