More detail on this person: Thomas A Leizt Thomas Allen Leitz, 34, of Springville died Wednesday, June 19, 1985 at Lake Tahoe, Calif. In a helicopter crash. He was born Feb. 1, 1951 at Ilion, N.Y. to John Ernest and Alice Mae Edwards Leitz. He married Theresa Lynn Tincher Oct. 30, 1982 in Logansport, Ind. He was reared and received his early schooling in Frankfort, N.Y. He also attended Arizona State University for one year. He served four years in the U.S. Army, three of them as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, flying many missions. He received many commendations during his tour of duty including the Good Conduct Medal, The Bronze Star, The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Medal and a special letter of commendation from the president of South Vietnam. He spent the last 11 years as a commercial helicopter pilot, most recently with Rocky Mountain Helicopters Inc. He has resided in Springville the past three years. Services were Monday in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, with full military rites performed by the Art City Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
