More detail on this person: Good Morning fellow Phoenix, I wanted to pass along information regarding the death of our Phoenix Brother, Sean Arleigh Moore. Some may already know of this sad news, but if you know someone that is not on this list or the Nest Facebook page, please let them know. Sean suffered from Prostate Cancer that had spread to vital organs. He was a patient at the Houston VAMC and Judy was at his bedside when he passed. Sean's wife of 43 1/2 years, Judy has asked that no flowers be sent. A sympathy card would be good as well as she has selected a Veteran Charity in Houston to donate to in lieu of flowers. A Celebration of Sean's life is planned for March 17, 2019 at their home in Houston. More info will follow when available. About Sean: Sean served Honorably in the Army from 12/29/69 to 9/3/74. He served as a Huey Helicopter Pilot for the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam 2/26/71-12/20/71. At the time, the 101st was assigned the Northern area of South Vietnam from the DMZ to Da Nang, to include such scenic sites as Hue, Quang Tri, Camps Eagle & Evans, Dong Ha, Khe Sahn, The Ashau Valley, and points west into Laos. He participated in the massive helicopter operations of Lam Son 719. Sean served at Ft. Rucker AL. as a flight instructor after Vietnam. He was a kind, gentle, humble, intelligent man who loved his family and his fellow Phoenix brothers with whom he served with in Vietnam, C Co. 158th Bn. Call sign Phoenix 28 is what he was known by on the airwaves. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with 27 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Vietnam Service Medal, in addition to his Aviator's Badge. C/158th was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. Sean went back to college after his military career and earned his Law degree, he was well respected in his community.
