More detail on this person: Carl Muckle, Jr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. Loving father of Jay (Barbara) Muckle of Philidelphia, PA and step-daughter Suzanne (Michael) O'Brien of Minneapolis, MN; cherished grandfather of Grey Muckle and Harriet O'Brien; dear brother of Gloria Belknap, Jim Muckle, Geri Muckle, and the late Judi (George) Bauer and Rose Ann Mertz. Dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Son of the late Carl Muckle, Sr. and Florence (nee McMenamy) Muckle. Carl always had a love for flying and achieved his pilot license at the age of 16. He served in the US Army as Chief Warrant Officer and flew Huey helicopters in Vietnam in the25th Battalion of the Little Bear Unit. After Vietnam, he continued to fly planes as a corporate pilot his entire life. Carl was the past Police Commissioner of the City of Bridgeton and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Robertson Fire District where he served at times as a volunteer firefighter. He also participated in the Patriot Guard Riders. Carl always had a good story to tell either about his experiences in Vietnam, with the fire department, or daily life. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, enjoyed Mizzou football, golfing and riding his Harley Motorcycle. Carl was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2 PM - 6 PM at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., (St. Charles). Procession Monday, January 7, from Hutchens-Stygar at 8:30 AM to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for a 10 AM committal service with military honors. Memorial donations appreciated to Disabled American Veterans.
