More detail on this person: Benjamin Moore Jr. Benjamin Moore Jr. Paris Post-Intelligencer, The (TN) - Tuesday, November 28, 2017 Benjamin Henry Moore Jr., 71, of Big Sandy died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, after a very short battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the home he built at 8172 Lick Creek Road in Big Sandy. All are welcome to attend. Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements Moore was born June 19, 1946, to the late Benjamin Henry Moore Sr. and Beth McCallum. He is survived by his wife, Lindsay Moore of Big Sandy. Moore was a helicopter pilot serving two tours in the Vietnam War and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, among other honors. He continued his aviation career for 50 years with various operators around the world. He flew missions and trained pilots in Ecuador, Peru, Iran and the United States. He was most recently employed by Helicopter Transport Services of Aurora, Ore., as a firefighter. He spent the summer of 2017 fighting wildfires in Montana. In addition to his duties as a pilot, he was an employee of HeliValue$ Inc. of Wauconda, Ill., as a helicopter appraiser for 15 years. Moore was a member of New Beginnings Church of God in Big Sandy. He is also survived by daughters: Allyson Paruzynski of Rockford, Ill., and Celeste Gaspari Moore of Big Sandy; four brothers: Mac (Betsy) Moore of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Tim (Cathy) Moore of Port Charlotte, Fla., Tom (Kristine) Moore of Tacoma, Wash., and Jack (Ligia) Moore of Santa Clarita, Calif.; a sister, Margie Moore of Liberty, Mo.; and eight grandchildren: Joshua, Jeremy and Brittany Gaspari and Ana, Laura, Moriah, Benjamin and Elijah Paruzynski.
