More detail on this person: I am very saddened to let you all know that Val passed away unexpectedly Friday 2/19 after a long battle with cancer that he felt was from Agent Orange Exposure. Val was a genuine ' Hero ' being a chopper pilot in Vietnam, flying hundreds of missions and earning the Distingulshed Flying Cross for his rescue of American troops in danger many times. His Chopper was damaged by gunfire 26 times. After discharge from the service, he was promoted to Auxiliary Captain in the New York City Fire Department. Val went to work flying for an airline, was based at JFK airport in New York City. When the Airline shut down, he started an aircraft charter company, retired after 27 years of aircraft charters. We mourn the loss of our fellow Club member. Joel Bahl KQ0J President , SCCARC
