He was born September 10, 1948, in Liberty, Texas, to Bessie Turner and Loy Matlock. David enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and also being on his tractor. He especially loved his social time at Waffle House. David is survived by his son, Clay Matlock and his wife, Caitlin; daughter, Sheri Hemphill and her husband, David; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Bob Matlock and his wife, Polly.
