More detail on this person: RICHARD THOMAS (DICK) MILLER RICHARD THOMAS (DICK) MILLER died on Monday, October the 19th in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Born on Janurary 15th, 1938, Dick was a native of Nashua, New Hampshire and a graduate of the University of Vermont. Upon completion of his education he served in the United States Army with the rank of First Lieutenant. He was the recipient of multiple air medals awarded for missions flown as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam in 1963. His exploits were recounted in his book entitled The Adventures of Young Victor Huber published in 2009. Dick was retired from 40 years in the chemical industry. He worked for Shell Oil and WesKem out of Houston, and was co-owner of Process Chemical in Calgary, Alberta for seven years. He is predeceased by his son Richard Thomas II, and survived by his wife Gail and their children Liz Sparks, Danny Miller and Lori Miller, as well as his 7 grandchildren, Kathleen and Andrew Sparks, Kristin Ludovice, Ryan and Amanda Mathis, Lauren Padron, and Emily Miller. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24th at Kingwood Funeral Home at the corner of US59 and Kingwood Drive. A military burial is scheduled for 9:15 am on Monday October 26th at the Houston National Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the Escuela de Chu'ul of Santiago, Guatemala via checks made payable to the The Sparks Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization.
