More detail on this person: McIntosh, Van Lee 76 April 29, 1937 July 29, 2013 Van Lee McIntosh was born in Greeley, Colo. to Van W. McIntosh and Dorothy A.(Oliphant) McIntosh. He attended Prairie View Grade School in N.E. Weld County and high school at Galeton, graduating in 1954. He attended Colorado State University, graduating in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army through the ROTC program at CSU. Active duty tours include seven years in Germany, two years in Vietnam and assignments in various posts and camps in the U.S. as a helicopter and fixed wing Senior Army Aviator. He retired at the rank of Major after service in the Army, Army Reserve and the Oregon Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Joslin; son, David; daughter, Nancy; stepdaughter, Katrina; and several grandchildren. A memorial will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the American Legion Post 180 in Milwaukie. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors.
