More detail on this person: EAST SANDWICH - Captain Donald McKay, 75, of East Sandwich, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 22, 2020. He was born to the late Edward and Rita McKay (MacDonald) on September 27, 1944 in Weymouth, MA. Donald grew up in Hingham, MA, he spent two tours in Vietnam as an Army Helicopter Pilot, then as a pilot in Thailand, and in The United Arab Emiraties until his retirement. He leaves behind his brother Edward Bartlet McKay "Bart" and his wife Elizabeth of East Sandwich, MA, his nieces; Julie Gregory of Centerville, MA and Angie Halverstadt of Durango, CO and several grand nieces and nephews. Burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:15am, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. An Procession will take place at 10:00am from the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA.
