More detail on this person: Michael F. "Mike" Mullins, 56, died of cancer 22 May 2002, at Blake Medical Center, Bradenton, FL, and was laid to rest 8 June 2002 in Anderson Memorial Gardens Cemetary, Clinton, TN.

Mike, a member of flight class ORWAC 70-44, served as a Captain with the 92nd AHC at Dong Ba Thin in 1971 and then was "Gladiator 15" with the 57th AHC at An Khe in 1972. He was a member of VHPA and the VHPA of Florida Chapter. Following his Vietnam service, Mike flew as a rotary-wing aviator at Ft. Lewis, WA, Ft. Bragg, NC and in Hawaii. Continuing to serve, Mike finished his military flying career with the 278th ACR, Tennessee Army National Guard, retiring as a CW3 in 1991.

After moving to Ellenton, FL, Mike flew EMS helicopter medical missions for Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

Mike Mullins is survived by his wife, Anne R. Hetrick-Mullins, two sons, two brothers and a sister, and four grandchildren. Anne has requested that a "Michael F. Mullins VHPA Memorial Scholarship" be established by the VHPA, with the award to be presented in 2003 by the VHPA/AAAA Scholarship Foundation. Donations, in Mike's name, should be sent to the VHPA.
