More detail on this person: David Robert McPherson, 67, passed away on Oct. 18, 2016, at St.
Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, after a six-year battle with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Dementia.
He had been residing in Mountain Home, Idaho for the last four years.
David was born in Great Falls, Mont., on July 11, 1949. He graduated from Palouse High School 1967
and attended WSU.
David served in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he was a W-2 helicopter pilot. He flew
special missions for the Navy Seals and Special Forces. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Air
Medal, plus others.
During his life, he worked at R.A. Hanson and F.F.L. companies of Spokane, Wash., until retiring
because of illness.
David loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing, shooting, horses, llamas and his beloved Old English
Sheepdogs and Gordon Setters. But most importantly his family.
David was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bruce McPherson; mother, Anna Elizabeth Peterson
McPherson; and son, Scott Darrel McPherson.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty Marlene McPherson; daughter, Loree Marley (Dean); son,
Robert Johnson and son, Patrick McPherson (Jill); brother, James McPherson (Barbara); numerous
nieces and nephews; and grandchildren Jordan Hogan, December Marley, Aly and Lily Johnson and
April McPherson.
He will be remembered as a soft-spoken man who always had the answers. His most famous saying:
"You are grounded indefinitely."
No funeral services will be held at this time. A memorial will be held in Spokane, Wash., at the
Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located in Medical Lake, at a later date. Arrangements are by Summers
