Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells. Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home. George Irwin Marcotte was born Aug. 19, 1935, to Joseph and Charlotte Johnson Marcotte. He retired from the U.S. Army where he received the Purple Heart. George also retired from Mineral Wells ISD. He was a member of Eagle Mountain Church of Christ in Saginaw, a former member of Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells and a member of Retired Teachers Association. He was a Scottish Rite Mason. George was past district deputy grand master of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; sister, Marie Marcotte; and nephew, Robert "Bobby" Marcotte. Survivors: Daughters, Jean Marie Marcotte, Tamera Ann Rollins and husband, Larry; grandchildren, David and Pamela Rollins; brothers, Michael B. Marcotte and Bill Marcotte; sister, Barbara Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
