More detail on this person: Julius Ray Manuel, 53 DEATHS Advocate, The (Baton Rouge, LA) - Friday, July 20, 2001 A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where he was employed as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. He was 53 and a native of Lake Charles. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a graduate of Nicholls State University and Charity Hospital School of Nurse Anesthetist in New Orleans. He was an avid sportsman. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 1:30 p.m. until religious services at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, beginning at noon Saturday. Interment to follow. Survived by a daughter, Megan Manuel, Lafayette; a sister, Millie M. Erny, Houma; a nephew, Chris Erny, Houma; a niece, Deborah Kelly, The Woodlands, Texas; and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fanilee LeDoux Manuel; and a sister, Marlene Kelly. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Julius Manuel - Man dies following four-wheeler accident Man dies following four-wheeler accident Natchez Democrat, The (MS) - Friday, July 20, 2001 A Baton Rouge resident injured in a four-wheeler accident in Adams County this month died Wednesday. Julius Manuel, 53 died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge as a result of head injuries he received during the accident, said Adams County Coroner James Lee. Manuel had been riding his four-wheeler behind another four-wheeler driven by his friend, L.J. Gonzales, 54, of Hammond, La. While riding on Springfield Road, Gonzales stopped his four-wheeler suddenly causing Manuel to run into the back of him. Gonzales was treated and released from Natchez Community Hospital after the accident. Manuel is the third four-wheeler fatality in the Miss-Lou since January. "I'm just almost terrified by the number of four-wheeler accidents _ we have had in the past year," Lee said.
