More detail on this person: Darryle "D" Mongeon, Lt. Col., USA, Ret. passed away January 3, 2021 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL at the age of 76. Lt. Col. Mongeon was born in Burlington, VT and moved to Fernandina Beach, FL 3 years ago from Albany, VT and Ocala, FL He retired from the U. S. Army and Vermont National Guard after 32 years of service. He was a helicopter pilot and after retiring from the military he became a financial advisor. He was an avid golfer and rated golf courses in Florida and Vermont. He was also a ranker for Golf Digest and a Master Gardener. Lt. Col. Mongeon was predeceased by his parents, Leon Mongeon and Margaret Delorme Mongeon; and by a brother, Dennis Mongeon. Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Marsha Mongeon; two sons, Dean Mongeon and Jon Mongeon; a daughter, Natalie Mongeon; two sisters and brothers in law, Dianne and David Deforge, Darlene and Barry Emmons; sister in law, Lois Mongeon; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren, soon to be five; and numerous much loved nieces, nephews and cousins as well as Marsha's family. Honoring his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Vermont Nature Conservancy, 575 Stone Cutters Way, Montpelier, VT 05602.
