More detail on this person: Charles David Marchant Services for Charles David Marchant, 58, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Resthavens Abbey Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. David passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. He was born March 19, 1945, in Fort Worth. He married Kun Oak Lyi on Aug. 28, 1998, in Lubbock. David spent 21 years serving our country in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1984. He served tours of duty in the Dominican Republic, twice in Germany, once in Kenya, and three times in Vietnam. As a paratrooper, he participated in the largest air jump since World War II over Vietnam. He completed air traffic control school and helicopter pilot training. After moving to Lubbock he worked as a guard at the Montford Unit of the Texas Department of Corrections. Survivors include his wife, Kun Oak; his mother, Doris Marchant of Graham; his daughter, Marissa Mansfield and husband T.J. of Denver, Colo.; his brother, Bob Marchant and wife Renee of Ennis; his sister, Sherry Bowen of Granbury; two grandsons, Logan and Ashton Mansfield; his grandmother, Grace Bennett of Graham; and three nephews, Blake Bowen of Brownsville, Brent Bowen of Plano, and Robert Marchant of Dallas.
