McDonald, 65, of Austin, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2009. He was born on February 10, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Clifford Ira and Zela Mae McDonald. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army with three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a dual rated pilot, infantry officer, public affairs officer, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 24 years of service. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Pat Prince and Betty Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Dee McDonald of Austin; son, Robert McDonald, Jr. and wife Keri of Austin; daughter, Laura McDonald of Brooklyn, New York; sister, Rita Richards of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Clinton Clarke and wife Shirley of Pensacola, Florida, Thomas Clarke and wife Vicki of Gulf Shores Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., February 13, 2009 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Austin, Texas. Interment will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
