More detail on this person: SAVANNAH, Georgia-- Oscar C. Mack, 57, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, died January 7, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center at Savannah.

A native of Switzerland, South Carolina, he attended Jasper County public schools and was a graduate of Jasper County High School and South Carolina State College, and was a member of the ROTC.

He served 21 years in the Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. A former professor of military science at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, he was a pilot instructor at Low Country Aviation at Ridgeland. He was a member of the Minority Business Association and a Methodist.

Survivors include his mother, Wilhelmina B. Mack of Ridgeland; and a sister, Natalie M. Freeman of Syracuse, N.Y.

The funeral, scheduled for noon today at Mount Carmel Baptist Center, is being arranged by StineyOs Mortuary of Hardeeville, South Carolina. Burial will be in Ferebeeville Cemetery.
