More detail on this person: Thomas B. McConnell Thomas B. McConnell Thomas Benjamin McConnell, 61, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. EDT today at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). He was born Oct. 24, 1943, in Miami, to Thomas Benjamin McConnell Sr. and Gretchen Marie Steele. After graduating from FSU, he served in the U.S. Army, which included one year in Vietnam. He returned to FSU for his master's and went on to a distinguished career with the Department of Children and Families. He lived a few years in Mexico, Mo., then returned to resume his career at DCF. He retired in 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Kyrin Branson of Ballwin, Mo.; and two sisters, Jeanine O'Shields of Miami and Carole Huffman of Whitefish, Mont.
