More detail on this person: Obituary for Michael Massengale Michael Lee Massengale, age 63 and a resident of Highland Village, TX. Born on October 3, 1942 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to John Fanning Massengale and Mildred Lee Hartfield. Passed away on June 14, 2006 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana will working for Home Land Security. Michael grew up and lived most of his life in Hattiesburg, attending college at the University of Southern Mississippi. Michael served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War and returned to serve in the Mississippi National Guard. During this time, he married Tommie Davis and began his family. In 1977, he began his service to the United States government as a Special Agent with the IRS until his retirement in 1998. Michael and his family settled in Highland Village, Texas in 1983. Michael was a dear husband, devoted father and grandfather and loyal friend. Michael was an avid sports fan and even though his alumnus was states away, he held season tickets for USM football and would rarely miss a game. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Massengale and two sons, Thomas Massengale and his wife, Jennifer of Lewisville, TX and John G. Massengale of Carrollton, TX. Two daughters, Michelle Anttila and her husband, Edward of Richardson, TX and Jennifer Cozzolino and her husband, Clifford of Carrollton, TX. and two grandchildren, Victoria Pedigo and Samantha Massengale both of Lewisville, TX and two sisters, Ruby Canard of Hattiesburg, MS and Kay Alford of Milford, MS. Family visitation will be held on Friday, June 16 from 7:00pm till 9:00pm at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11:00am at Flower Mound Family Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow on Monday at the D/FW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association
