More detail on this person: Cole Chester Woodford McDowell Cole Chester Woodford McDowell Leesburg Today (VA) - Monday, September 29, 2008 Cole Chester Woodford McDowell Jr., 79, of Potomac Falls, died Sept. 27, 2009 at his residence. Born July 6, 1929, in Indiana, he was the son of Chester W. and Edna McDowell. He was a member of the Lovettsville Ruritans and the Catoctin Presbyterian Church. He served in the United State Army. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie McDowell and brothers Fred and Elmer McDowell. He is survived by his daughters Michelle M. Messner of Cedar Rapids, IA; Colleen M. Hannas of Herndon; brother Harry McDowell of Indianapolis. IN; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from from 6-9 p.m Thursday, Oct. 2. at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at the funeral home with the Rev. David Douthett officiating. Burial will take place at Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633, to the Falcon's Landing, 20522 Falcons Landing Circle, Potomac Falls, VA 20165, or to Capital Hospice, 6565 Arlington Blvd, Suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22042.
