More detail on this person: Thomas A. McGee, Jr. passed away in his sleep at home on April 12, 2018, at the age of 69. Tom was born in Ft. Worth, Texas. His family moved to Boise shortly after he was born and then to Caldwell, Idaho where he was raised. He met his wife, Judi, shortly after returning from the Vietnam War in 1969. They made their home in Caldwell where they raised their three boys. Tom graduated from Caldwell High School, the College of Idaho and later earned his Masters Degree in Industrial Safety from Texas A & M. He also earned a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential. Tom was devoted to serving his community in many different capacities. Perhaps it was Tom's service to his country that best defined him. Tom volunteered to serve in the US Army during the height of the Vietnam War. He was a Master Army Aviator for 42 years in both the Army and the Idaho National Guard. He flew almost every model of helicopter that the Army had. Tom was one of the first to achieve the rank of CW5. Tom was a big part of the Caldwell community as he served as a member of the Caldwell Jaycees, the Caldwell Optimists and was an Elder at Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church. Tom was a mentor and father figure to many young people in the community as he sponsored and coached youth soccer and baseball for many years. Tom also owned and operated McGee Air Conditioning & Heating, providing jobs for many and making many life-long friends. He also worked for OSHA before he retired. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly, and his father, Tom Sr. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judi, sons John (Hanna), Mark (Amanda) and Matt (Rebecca) and had 4 grandchildren, Justin, Madalyn, Mason and Maxwell. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Feierfeil and Janine Kendall and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 1:00 PM, on Monday, April 23rd at Eagle Christian Church, 100 Short Land in Eagle. Tom will be buried with military honors at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, Idaho at 3:00 PM the same day.
