More detail on this person: Ralph Leon Meyers Ralph Leon Meyers, 74, of Salina, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011. He was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Eureka, the son of Ralph G. and Pauline (Logsdon) Meyers. Ralph retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 from the United States Army with more than 21 years of service. He served two tours, as a helicopter pilot, in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University with a business degree. Ralph was an avid golfer at Salina Municipal Golf Course. He recently celebrated 55 years of marriage with his wife, Jeanette. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette, of Salina; three daughters, Carrie Madden, of Salina, Vicky Mong and husband Mike, of Kansas City, Mo., and Tracy Thummel and husband Dan, of Salina; one brother, Raymond Meyers, of Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Jennifer McQuillan, Sheena Ball, Heather Baxter and Chelsea Mong; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N Eighth St., Salina. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Ray Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 1432. Memorials are to the Memory Care Unit of the Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center.
