More detail on this person: Major Donald P. MIller Major Donald P. MIller, Jr. USMC (ret.) Rincon - Major Miller, 66, of Rincon, GA, died Sunday at Hospice House. He was born in Owattona, MN and had lived Savannah before moving to Rincon 6 years ago. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 20 years and retired as a Major. He was the immediate past-commandant of Marine Corps League Detachment #564, Savannah, GA. Following his service to his Country, he worked for the State of GA as a State Loan Examiner for the State Insurance Commissions and was set to retire this fall. He was a follower of Chesty Puller and a friend of Bill W. He is survived by his wife; Joyce (Coley) Miller, Rincon, son, Paul D. Miller, III, Spartanburg, SC; daughter; Melanie Ballard, Morganton, NC, his mother, Mable (Penn) Miller, Edina, MN, three step-sons; Tony Vickery, Rincon, GA, and twins, Ronald and Donald Vickery, Springfield, GA, step -daughter; Michelle Ellis, Springfield, GA; brother; Robert Miller, Bloomington, MN, an d sister, Nancy Sparicio, Providence, RI. Major Miller is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services for Major Donald Paul Miller, Jr., USMC (ret.) will be private and are under the direction of the South Carolina Cremation & Memorial Society 800-758-9115. Memorial donations in his memory should be directed to Hospice House 1532 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah, GA. 31406.
