More detail on this person: Joe Dan Moody Funeral services for Joe Dan Moody, 53, of Potomac, Md., a former Sulphur Springs resident, were conducted Friday, Aug. 6, in Tapp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Gordon officiating. Burial was in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Joe Ardis, James Moore, L.F. Bridges III, Charles Mack Randolph, Bill Dougan, Paul G. Westbrook, Bill Wyatt and Scott Butler serving as pallbearers. Mr Moody died at 6 a.m. Monday at his residence following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Gilmer, the son of C.O. and Mildred Milton Moody. He married Julie Davis in Corsicana on Sept. 14, 1963. She survives. Mr. Moody was a 1958 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a 1962 graduate of North Texas State University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as lieutenant colonel after 20 years in the service. He was employed as director of business development for the Martin-Marietta Corp. at the time of his death. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs. Other survivors include his mother, Mildred Moody of Sulphur Springs; and two daughters, Kathryn Moody and Kendall Moody, both of Potomac. He was preceded in death by his father.
