Martin Florida Times-Union, The (Jacksonville, FL) - Friday, August 16, 2002 FL United States MARTIN Colonel James Edwin Martin, (U.S.A. ret.), 69 of Atlantic Beach, FL, died August 15, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches following a long illness. He was born September 8, 1932 in Okolona, MS and moved to Fleet Landing of Atlantic Beach in 1993. Colonel Martin was a retired Periodonist with the United States Army after serving in two tours in Germany, Hawaii and several posts stateside including the Westpoint Military Academy. He received his Masters degree from Ohio State University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Emory University. He was a member of the Methodist faith, the Gideons International and S.A.R. Family members include his wife, Barbara Martin; daughter, Clara Mae Martin of Rex, GA; son, Bryan Thomas (Christa) Martin of Thompson Station, TN and his sister, Glenda Mae Michailidis of Pensacola, FL. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., (today), August 18th in the Oakdale Cemetery of Deland, FL. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 19th in the Auditorium of Fleet Landing with Commander Kermit Meier of Fleet Landing, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 330952, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233, the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association. 3rd St. at Ponte Vedra Blvd. 249-1100,
