The above obituary from the Tampa Tribune.
Sad to report we have lost another comrade. LTC
Ret. Joseph M.F. May passed away early this
morning. He had a massive heart attack last
Thursday, yet he held on till today.
I don't find Joe listed in our directory, however
he served on the ship at Cam Ranh Bay and later
was assigned to Hq's. Transportation Group in
Saigon in 66 and 67.
We flew together in Augsburg, Germany in the early
60's and for the past 30 plus years he has been a
good friend and neighbor. He will be missed.

In 1960 the 24th ID's Avn Maint KD cell at
Gablingen Kaserne near Augsburg Germany was
commanded by Capt Joseph Marion Francis May
from New York. Irish as Paddy's Pig. He was dual
rated at that time. He was one of the best CO's I
ever served with. RIP Dai Uy.
