More detail on this person: Richard E. Myers, 84, of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Hershey Medical Center. Born March 22, 1933, in Gettysburg, he was son of the late Robert E. and Marian Myers. Richard was a graduate of Swatara High School and then went on to service his country with the US Army. He served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot with the 1st Cavalry unit. He was awarded several combat citations which included the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star & (2) Air Medals. After 20 years of service he was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971. He then went on to own and operate many of his own businesses including REM Helicopters, Inc. where he retired. Richard was an active member & Past Master of the Robert Burns Lodge #464 F&AM. Surviving are his loving wife, Doris K. Myers; half-sister, Mija K. Jones; 3 sons, Robert, Ronald and Rhys; step-daughter, Sandra Kay Kelliher; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Jane Myers. A Masonic Service will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, 10:00AM, at the Masonic Chapel of Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA with a burial with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at 12:20PM.
