More detail on this person: A great Cavalry Commander, Colonel Robert H. Nevins, passed away yesterday at 1400 hrs.. For those of us who served with him he will forever remain in our minds not only as a great Cavalry Commander but as one of the finest men we have known. As it currently is planned there will be a viewing Wednesday September 2, at Ottumwa, Iowa with burial at the national cemetery at Keokuk, Iowa on Thursday September 3. For those that can make it, many of us will be at the AmericInn in Ottumwa on Wednesday night.
