More detail on this person: Lt.Col. (Ret.) David Anthony Newman October 1, 1941 - May 30, 2020 WESTON, FL It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Lt.Col. (Ret.) David A. Newman informs all of you of his passing on May 30, 2020 in Miami, Flo-rida. David was a kind, gentle man who touched the lives of countless people throughout his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. David graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City, graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, studied International Relations at the University of Miami, and studied Joint/Combined Operations at the Armed Forces Staff College. He spent his career faithfully serving his country in the US Army. His passions included gardening, motorcycles, and genealogy. He was active in his church First Baptist Church At Weston and enjoyed playing racquetball. David's faith in God was constant and unwavering. It is this knowledge that has been the greatest comfort to his family at this time. David is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, David, Christopher, and Heather; and four grand-children, Frances, Cecilia, Emmett, and Miles.
