More detail on this person: Lt. Col. (Ret) Reginald A. Neuwien Jr. (Skip), 74, of Enterprise passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, following a courageous battle with a long-term illness at SEAMC, he was surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Matt Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org Mr. Neuwien was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Stamford, Conn. He was an Army aviator and a Vietnam veteran who served our country over 20 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1982. Following his retirement from the Army, he worked for McDonnell Douglas and then Honeywell, Inc. in research and development to further support the military and their cause to protect America. He retired from Honeywell in 1997. His heart belonged to his family and his country. He loved to play golf and brag about his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Reginald and Grace Neuwien. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan Wilson Neuwien; three daughters, Shell Neuwien Robertson of Enterprise, Stacy Neuwien Rowland and her husband Michael of Vestavia Hills and Shawn Neuwien Dunaway and her husband Tommy of Enterprise; one son, Reginald A. Neuwien III (Skip) and his wife Natalie of Enterprise; nine amazing grandchildren, Ryan Robertson, Katie Rowland, Maggie Rowland, Blake Dunaway, Brooke Dunaway, Brett Dunaway, Samantha Neuwien, Sarabeth Neuwien and Sydney Neuwien. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J. Ryan Conner, Kintenia Harris and the many special nurses at SEAMC.
