More detail on this person: NEWTON, Glenn Allen Funeral Notices Arizona Daily Star, The (Tucson, AZ) - Thursday, September 9, 2004 age 55, of 216 Coddies Terrace, Franklin, NC died Friday, September 3, 2004 at his residence. Born in Fulton County, GA, he was a son of the late Wesley Milton Newton and Carolyn Towe Newton of Franklin, NC. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and received numerous medals for heroism; two Air Medals, a Meritorious Achievement Medal, a Distinguished Flying Cross, and a Bronze Star. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was on the Dean's List, with a degree in Anthropology. He was a General Manager for Lowes Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Theresa; three sons, Justin, Zachary and Dylan Newton, all of Tucson, AZ; sister, Beth N. Sproat of Franklin, NC; and a brother, Keller Newton of Franklin, NC. Memorial services will be held at 200 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2004 in the Chapel at Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Allen, Rev. Maria Martin, and the Franklin VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108. Funeral Detail officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in memory of Chief Warrant Officer Glenn Allen Newton to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
