More detail on this person: He was Scout Platoon Leader and then B Troop 2/17 Operations officer. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross (United States). I remember he flew one mission for me while I was on R and R. He flew into the A Shau Valley to rescue some troops and took a bullet between his head and his helmet. He was lucky that day.
